This privacy statement explains which types of non-personally identifiable information (PI), personally identifiable information (PII), and other types of information we may collect via our websites, and what we do with collected information, as well as the procedures for contacting us about that information. If you feel that the privacy practices employed by Quiet Time Ministries are not adequate to protect your privacy, you should refrain from using the Quiet Time Ministries website.


Information Collection and Use

(PI) - Non-Personally Identifiable Information

Quiet Time Ministries' aggregate websites may collect general and non-personally identifiable information from visitors who use our websites. The following are examples of some of the data that we may collect: web pages visited, order of webpage visits, hyperlink activation, internet protocol (IP) address of the visitor, web browser type, operating system type, monitor type, internet connection speed, date and time of visit, and other were visited, and other non-personally identifiable information.

The purposes of tracking this information is to improve our website and to better serve our website visitors. Collection and analysis of this information allows us to determine the most and least popular sections of the website, timing and dates of the visits, and geographic distribution ot our visitors. We may use this information to improve our site and to make decisions about when to perform maintenance/upgrades.

The manner of collection of this information is via server logs and analysis tools. This type of information is sent by your browser every time you request a webpage from our servers (i.e. every time you go to our website). Almost all browsers send this information to the web server at the time of a request for a webpage.

Third-party tools are available that allow you to monitor and/or change the information sent by your browser. Using these tools may currently not limit your use of the Quiet Time Ministries web site; however, in the future this could change.

(PII) - Personally Identifiable Information

Quiet Time Ministries may collect the internet protocol (IP) address of each website user, the data sometimes considered to be PII in type. We may collect the IP address in order to learn geographic distribution of our website visitors and the popularity of certain Internet Service Providers (ISP's). This data enables us to make improvements to our website.

Quiet Time Ministries does not use the internet protocol address of website visitors to associate the address with any specific visitor(s).

Quiet Time Ministries’ website does not collect any other personally-identifiable information (PII) from its visitors, unless that information is voluntarily provided by the visitor.

The most likely occurrence where a visitor may be required to send personally-identifiable information when using our websites is during communication with Quiet Time Ministries via email or a web-based form (formmail). Examples of occurrences in which Quiet Time Ministries may ask that you voluntarily send PII include, but are not limited to: quizzes, contests, games, surveys, forums, subscription registrations, content submissions (i.e., reader reviews), chat rooms, bulletin boards, message boards, guestbooks, general correspondence, requests for products or services, and requests for additional information.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Quiet Time Ministries asks for personally-identifiable information (PII) in certain situations is so we can respond to your inquiry. Quiet Time Ministries asks only the essential PII reasonably necessary to complete the transaction initiated on the website and/or to participate in the online activity that required the PII.

Quiet Time Ministries may use personally-identifiable information (PII) to market our products and services by offering promotions and other offers to people who have voluntarily submitted PII to us.

Third Parties

Quiet Time Ministries is prudent when choosing reputable business partners. Occasionally, Quiet Time Ministries may collaborate with one of our business partners and share PII with them to improve website performance or to market our products and services to our visitors more effectively. Quiet Time Ministries never sells or trades PII to third parties for their own use.

Additionally, the Quiet Time Ministries’ web site may be linked to/from a third-party’s website, which may collect or solicit PII from visitors. Quiet Time Ministries has no control over the privacy practices of third parties; therefore, visitors should consult the privacy policy of such websites for information on how they use and collect PII.

Co-Branded Sites

Quiet Time Ministries may occasionally maintain association with another organization to allow it to use the Quiet Time Ministries name and/or logo on their site (such as a retailer’s site or a publisher’s site). In such instances, Quiet Time Ministries does not maintain control over these sites. Quiet Time Ministries makes no representation about co-branded sites; these sites may collect PII. Visitors should consult the privacy policy of the company which owns/operates the website in order to determine if PII is being collected.

Security of PII

Quiet Time Ministries takes reasonable measures to keep PII confidential to ensure the integrity and security of our network and website, therefore, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur.

The security of your personal information is important to Quiet Time Ministries.  When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card number) on our signup/registration or order forms, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to our websites, both during and after transmission.  No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure.  While Quiet Time Ministries' sets as its goal to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are created on a web server, passed to the user’s browser, and stored on the user’s hard drive. Cookies are commonly used to store information about a user’s website usage and/or various statistics about the user’s computer, connection, software, etc. Most modern browsers are capable of disabling the use of cookies for a specific website or for all websites.

Quiet Time Ministries does not currently use cookies on our informational websites. Quiet Time Ministries reserves the right to begin use of cookies for statistical record keeping, site performance monitoring, and/or storing users’ website preferences or other non-PII information. Quiet Time Ministries currently has no plans to use cookies for the collection of PII, but this may change in the future.

If you reject cookies, you may still use our informational sites, but your ability to use some areas of our sites, such as the Online Store, contests or surveys, will be limited. Our payment gateway partner, Authorize.net uses cookies to process your payment information. You need to have “cookies” enabled on your Internet browser. A “cookie” is a secure piece of data that helps us identify you during the process of giving an online gift or when using your online account. “Cookie” technology is used by nearly all major e-commerce organizations including banks and credit card companies.

E-Mail

Any email sent to Quiet Time Ministries contains the email address of the sender. Quiet Time Ministries will store the names and email addresses of visitors with the content of the email (which may or may not contain additional PII) to correspond with the visitorr and/or to inform the sender of promotions, offers, or announcements. Once received, reasonable measures will be taken to protect the PII contained therein.

Compliance With COPPA - Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (for Children Under 13 Years of Age and Their Parents)

Quiet Time Ministries urges parents and guardians to explain Internet safety to their children. Children under 13 years of age should not provide any PII (e.g. your last name, home address or email address) on our sites without the knowledge and permission of your parent or guardian. If Quiet Time Ministries learns that you are under 13 years of age, we will not maintain or use any PII about you without the verifiable consent of your parent or guardian or as allowed by law. This will restrict and limit your participation in certain activities on our sites.

Except as otherwise permitted by law, where we are knowingly collecting children’s PII, the child will be asked to provide his/her parent’s or guardian's email address so that we can contact the child’s parent or guardian before any collection of the child’s PII. We will then send an email to the parent/guardian indicating the information that the child is requested to provide, the intended use(s) of the information and information on how the parent/guardian can, at their election, delete the child's information from our database or records, as well as a link to access this privacy statement. Upon receipt of such notice, a parent or guardian may respond to us granting or denying his/her consent. If consent is denied, we will delete the parent or guardian’s email address, the child’s email address, and any other PII, if any, previously obtained for securing parental consent. Upon our receipt of parent/guardian consent, we will send a confirming email to the parent/guardian’s email address or take such other action as may be required to verify the consent. The child's PII will not be disclosed to third parties other than those who provide support for the internal operations of our website. Parents can revoke a prior consent at any time.

Quiet Time Ministries will never knowingly share a child's PII with a third party for the purpose of permitting that third party to send the child information about their products or services.

Orders

If you purchase a product or service from us, we request certain personally identifiable information from you on our order form. You must provide contact information (such as name, email, and shipping address) and financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date). 

We use this information for billing purposes and to fill your orders.  If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you. We also use this information for periodic updates about our products and services.

Agents

We use a credit card processing company to bill you for goods and services in the Online Store. This company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any other purposes.

Surveys or Contests

[From time-to-time] we may provide you the opportunity to participate in contests or surveys on our site.  If you participate, we will request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information.  The requested information typically includes contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code). 

We use this information to notify contest winners and award prizes, to monitor site traffic or personalize the site (in the case of anonymous information collected in surveys), and to send participants an email newsletter.

We do not use a third party service provider to conduct these surveys or contests. We will not share the personally identifiable information you provide through a contest or survey with other third parties unless we give you prior notice and choice.

Tell-A-Friend

If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for your friend’s name and email address.  We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site. Quiet Time Ministries stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program.  After this one-time email, we do not generate any further email to your friend unless your friend elects to opt-in using the link provided in the one-time email.

Special Offers and Updates

We will occasionally send you information on products, services, special deals, promotions. You can sign up for these emails from us on our home page.

If you use a bulletin board or chat room on this site, you should be aware that any personally identifiable information you submit there can be read, collected, or used by other users of these forums, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages.  We are not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these forums. Quiet Time Ministries reserves the right to terminate the accounts of visitors who use these services in a manner inconsistent with our Terms of Use.
